Our Mission

As a local church, under God’s direction, we will create an environment where a body of believers can stir a FAITH in God, establish a FAMILY in God, and pursue a FUTURE in God. We are a Spirit filled congregation that is multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-generational in membership and leadership.

Faith

We're a church that will stir your faith and strengthen your walk with the Lord.

Family

We're a family of believers that love, encourage and support one another.

Future

We're a congregation that's preparing the next generation for greater things.

Our Beliefs

We Believe that Jesus Christ gave His life as an expression of His love for all of us. He took the place of sinful man on the cross. His resurrection affirmed Him to be the Son of God triumphant over the scourge of death. New life in Christ is offered to all who will repent, believe and receive. The Bible says, “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.” As a believer in Christ, your sins are forgiven. You can celebrate the Lordship of Jesus Christ, completely rejoice in eternal life and wholeheartedly follow the Lord.

We believe that a strong family makes for a strong church and a strong church makes for a strong community. Our desire is to strengthen and foster Godly relationships in a personal way through our Home Life Groups. Our desire is to build a strong, vibrant corporate body of Bible believers comprised of many healthy Life Groups. We serve as a place of assembly where God’s people can learn to lay down their lives in service to others, that they may stand firm in all that is the will of God. Our desire is to support through work, faith, prayer, and financial giving all of the ministries which God has allowed us to plan there, and in other nations. We are local church people aspiring to build covenantal relationships based on sacrificial love.

The only infallible rule of faith and practice as recorded in such translations as the King James Version, New International Version or Amplified Bible.
Revealed in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The persons of the Eternal godhead are distinguishable but indivisible.
His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, salvation by faith through His shed blood, His bearing our sickness and afflictions, and in His bodily resurrection.
And in a state of innocence, as recorded in Genesis through temptation he willfully transgressed and became dead in trespasses and sins, thus his posterity inherits a corrupt nature, being born in sin and under condemnation as recorded in the book of Romans.
According to the Scripture, the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He arose from the dead in His glorified body, ascended into heaven as our great High Priest and Advocate, He ever lives to make intercession for us; that all who believe on His name are justified on the ground of the grace of God and given eternal life.
In the divine, instantaneous work of regeneration and the divine, progressive work of sanctification.
The mystical Body and Bride of the Lord Jesus, composed of believers from Pentecost to the Second Coming of Christ, into which the Holy Spirit places believers.

The local church is an organism composed of practicing believers in the Lord Jesus divinely instituted for fellowship, worship, training, service, and evangelism.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As an experience subsequent to salvation with the scriptural evidence of speaking in other tongues, and the moving and working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of men in these last days particularly in the operation of the gifts of the spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14.
And in the establishment of His Kingdom on earth.
A life of separation from the secular sinfulness, and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith.
And eternal separation from God for unbelievers.

Loving God. Loving People.

Our Leaders

Each New Testament local church is like a drop of water in the river of God’s universal church. The local church is a community of believer’s that relate together with the supervision of leaders. These leaders have delegated authority from the Lord. The New Testament identifies these designated leaders as Elders (spiritual leaders; Titus 1:5-10; NIV) and Deacons (servant leaders; I Timothy 3:8-13). This is not to say that Elders do not serve or Deacons are not spiritual. It simply states the emphasis of each responsibility. There is a specification of the governmental ministries in which Elders function recorded in Ephesians 4:11-16. These governmental ministries are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

There is much latitude given in the New Testament regarding church structure. The key New Testament emphasis for church life is the spirituality and the character of the designated leaders and the members, especially those assuming responsibilities. Local church organizations rise and fall by the character of the participants and their capacity to function as a team or body. This truth is vital to glorifying God and accomplishing His will for this covenant community of believers known as Rock Church of Franklin. Below is a brief overview of the designated leaders and their function followed by an introduction to our church eldership.

Our History

The great message of salvation was declared at the first Rock Church service conducted on June 13, 1975. Pastors David and Patty Dillon were promoted by Rock Church of Virginia Beach to establish a local church, patterned after the New Testament. Pastors David and Patty Dillon pioneered the Rock Church located at 130 Lakeview Road in Franklin, Virginia. Over the years, many have come to know Christ personally as the church has grown tremendously. The church continues to operate a Christ-centered school which began in September of 1978 and ranges in grades from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Now, the school has students enrolled who are second generation, Rock Church school students. Their son, R.C.S. graduate, Ben Dillon is the school principal. In 1982, Pastors David and Patty sent out Marcus and Jennifer Morris from Franklin to begin a mission work in the impoverished nation of Bolivia, South America. Today, they pastor a thriving, worshipful, local church of over seven hundred people in Vinto. They oversee the work of a network of fourteen other churches throughout Bolivia. Their ministry also includes the operation of a Christian school with over two hundred students, the oversight of a home for orphaned children and the facilitation of over seventy home cell groups.

In the spring of 2001, the Lord enabled the Rock Church to realize our dream of purchasing the sixty acres of land adjacent to the church property. This debt was paid in full in record time which is allowing us to dream as we look to the Lord to fulfill our corporate destiny.

In June of 2015, Pastors David and Patty Dillon passed the baton of their ministry to their son, Pastor Danny Dillon and his wife Jill. After running the race together in the exchange lane for a season, Pastors David and Patty have passed the baton and are now traveling and ministering the Word of the Lord all over this nation and others. Pastors David and Patty are being used mightily by the Lord to minister to marriages, ministers, men, women, and children. They are re-firing like never before! Pastors Danny & Jill are now the Lead Pastors at our local church in Franklin. They are running this race with zest!

The grace of Jesus Christ and the joy of celebratory worship have distinguished this fellowship. Members of Rock Church have always been noted as people who reach out in a spirit of love to others. The church is endeavoring to passionately worship the Lord, to preach the Word of God and to live it.
